The Future of Web Design

There’s never been a better time to be creating for the Web.
  • most websites today sit on top of a more complex system than in the past
  • application program interface (API) enables us to easily work within that complexity
  • differentiate between programming and coding
  • commoditization is the price for standardization
  • a radical shift in markup remains unlikely
  • the value of the front-end developer skill set is dropping off or "stabilizing"

Information logistics is the career of the future.

So... prove it...

  • front-end - the rise of modular content
  • focus has moved to building systems
  • dynamic alternatives to photoshop (Macaw)
Let the machines build the code and leave the humans to build the strategy.
The last 30 years has created a marvelous starting point, a solid platform to build truly great things. However the coolest stuff has not been invented yet — although this new greatness will not be more of the same-same that exists today. It will not be merely “better,” it will different, beyond, and other.
